What is DH Youth?

First launched in 2016 DHY was an immediate success where participants from 13 countries and several continents participated in a 5 days intensive training in the House of Peace at Uppsala Castle. The project gathered young leaders between the ages of 18-30 years, working either professionally or voluntarily, nationally or internationally, with one or several areas related to the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals.

The annual project is meant to elevate the importance of youth leadership in the realization of the UN Sustainable Development Goals. The project is further meant to expose young leaders to one another and highlight exceptional examples of youth impact. All this in the spirit of courage, integrity and compassion, values we students of Uppsala believe were embodied by Mr. Hammarskjöld.

The training provides an excellent opportunity to bridge the Global Nexus, merging local and global forces, connecting youth leaders from Uppsala, Sweden, and the world - establishing a boundless support network of DHY alumni and future world leaders and game changers.

As for now the project is hereby calling for applicants regarding the two positions of project leader and vice project leader to lead this year’s edition. The two project leaders are elected on a one year mandate, and their responsibilities are specified below.

The project leader is the general manager of the annual program, and together with the vice project leader they lead the annually recruited project group and is ultimately responsible for the execution and success of the training, program and the economy of the project.
